Meet the Leadership Team

Shonda Hendrix is currently the Hospice Administrator at Sparrow Hospice.

Shonda is a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 18 years of medical social work experience. Shonda obtained her bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of New England. Shonda entered the hospice field over eight years ago because she felt called to help advocate for one of the most vulnerable populations; people with life-limiting illness. Shonda found her niche while working in hospice and often says, “I learn more from my patients then they could ever learn from me.” Shonda feels that it is an honor to play a small role in such a precious time within a family. Shonda chose to join the Sparrow Hospice team because it was exciting to be able to help build a hospice that focuses on helping people live with joy in their last days and who prioritizes patient-centered care above all else. Shonda is passionate about educating the community about dementia care, available resources, and team building.

Shonda lives in a historic home in McKinney, with her spouse, son and two English Bulldogs, and enjoys renovating her home.
